There have been some great adventures along the way, but what inspires me most is working with people and getting them moving and loving life again. – Penny Elliott
Penny Elliott is a private practice physiotherapist, exercise professional, and lecturer working with local and international clients and students.
Penny completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy at Sydney University and went on to complete her Masters of Health Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy 10 years later.
With a personal background in dance, Penny’s particular interest has always been in biomechanics and movement analysis, often working with hypermobility. Successfully managing complex lower back pain has also been a personal, as well as a professional passion, after undergoing her own microdiscectomy in 2014. Her dedication to specific exercise and rehabilitation as well as her commitment to expanding her knowledge in this field has allowed her to excel on her own health and fitness journey. She is primed and ready to share her knowledge and experience with her clients.
After completing her Master’s degree, Penny’s other area of interest became the TMJ and craniomandibular region. She works collaboratively in this area along with other dentistry professionals.
Her career began at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital, moving into private practice 2 years later, at Sydney University. Working across a wide variety of sports, a highlight of her time there, was the opportunity of being Physio at the Australian Uni Games.
The Physiotherapy Posture and Fitness clinic was home for 20 years, where, as a senior Physio, Penny worked closely with well-known Physiotherapist, Francine St George, author of The Back-Pain Handbook.
During this time she constantly undertook further study after the completion of her masters degree. Ever since, she has enjoyed teaching, lecturing and developing accredited programs for health professionals in Australia and internationally.
Penny is passionate about the human body, science, movement and biomechanics. She has translated that passion into a lifelong career in Physiotherapy and being an educator in the health sciences.
If you have any questions about her services, please feel free to contact her directly.
